COVE was born in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, which is known for producing some of the world’s finest cannabis. COVE was started, by collecting and growing an assortment of favorite cultivars. From there COVE focused on every detail of the process, selecting only the best colas from each harvest.

While working at Leo Burnett, I and a team of individuals had the pleasure of getting to work on some new developed clients in the cannabis space. The first of many brands to come through the door was COVE cannabis. This project was a complete build, and included everything from web build and e-commerce build, to print campaigns and social campaigns as well.

Color & Material

Thinking through the color palette we wanted to keep it distinct and in tune with the over all vibe the brand was trying to portray. Ultimately we went with dark earth tones, with some nice contrasting pastels to go along with it. We wanted the color choices to compliment mother nature and all its moody glory.

Designing a fully responsive website.

When designing this site, we kept in mind that every device need to have and display the same experience to each user and their respected device. So every page and component was built and designed to be fully browser responsive in nature, allowing the site to fully shine no matter what it’s being viewed on or from. Overall the client and the internal team was very pleased with the outcome.

Product forward approach to design.

Part of the ask from the client was to keep e-commerce in mind when both designing the website and building it. Ultimately we worked on many user flows and though a lot about how people get to a product and where they are ultimately coming from.

When designing for it, we wanted to keep all the product imagery full bleed to allow for full impact on new seem-less full screen devices. Really trying to take advantage of the real estate and leaving it feeling premium.
